THE HISTORY OF THE BRAND AIGLE
In 1853, Hiram Hutchinson bought the rubber vulcanization patent from Mr. Goodyear and founded the "Eagle" brand. The Eagle was chosen in reference to the American eagle, symbol of Mr. Hutchinson's native country. In the beginning, the production was mainly concentrated around rubber and canvas shoes. In 1972, the blue nautical boot with white stripes was created for the first time at the Munich Olympic Games.
In 1989, Aigle began to produce clothing and footwear for both the city and the country. This was also the year the company opened its first boutique in St Germain-des-Prés. Today, the brand is more than 160 years old, and has managed to preserve and develop its know-how.
