Detailed features

The smallest personal beacon on the market: PLB 1 personal beacon from Ocean Signal
Once triggered, this beacon will quickly and regularly transmit your position and identification number via satellite directly to a rescue coordination centre. It communicates with the global search and rescue network (Cospas Sarsat). This means that the relevant authorities will quickly receive your alert and pass it on to the operational teams. Easy to activate, you will only need one hand even in the most extreme conditions. This service is funded by the government, so there is no cost to you.
Please note! PLB tags are serialized by default. At the time of purchase, you will need to register your beacon with the appropriate authorities in the country corresponding to the serialized coding.

Personal AIS MOB beacon waterproof to 50 m

The Amec TB 520 beacon, is a man overboard personal positioning beacon, using AIS technology. Vessels equipped with an AIS receiver in the vicinity of a person in the water carrying the TB520 beacon are alerted and receive the person's GPS position information. In emergency situations the beacon can be activated either automatically by the immersion sensor or manually. Its high performance GPS receiver allows the rapid acquisition of GPS coordinates. The TB520 beacon is small, but ultra reliable, and lightweight

The PLB GNSS Personal Beacon

The 406 Mgz Personal Locator Beacon with GNSS can be used at sea but also when hiking. After reporting your departure and destination on the dedicated website, the SAFELINK SOLO will transmit your personal identifier and your GNSS position (GPS+Galileo) to the Cospas-Sarsat global distress system. In case of trouble, rescuers will be regularly informed of your position and will locate you with precision. These beacons, designed for individual use at sea or in rivers, are easy to carry and comply with the COSPAS-SARSAT standard: waterproof with a minimum of 24 hours operation. The beacon emits a digital signal that allows identification and position by satellite on 406 MHz (5 watts) and at the same time a homing signal on 121.5 MHz guiding the rescuers to the location even without visibility.

Caution! PLB beacons are serialized by default. At the time of purchase, you will need to register your beacon with the relevant authorities in the country corresponding to the serialized coding.

EPIRB AIS Smartfind G8 Automatic from MC Murdo

The new G8 beacon <dfn title="Le Système d'identification automatique (SIA) ou Automatic Identification System (AIS) en anglais est un système d'échanges automatisés de messages entre navires par radio VHF qui permet aux navires et aux systèmes de surveillance de trafic (CROSS en France) de connaître l'identité, le statut, la position et la route des navires se situant dans la zone de navigation.">AIS</dfn> EPIRB provides faster detection, superior positioning accuracy and a much faster rescue of people or vessels in distress. Once the EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) is triggered, it sends a signal to a network of COPAS-SARSAT satellites on the 406 MHz frequency. The alert is very quickly triggered if the beacon's position is transmitted with the distress signal (GPS). In addition to the satellite system, the G8A beacon sends an AIS signal when it is triggered. This signal will be received and read by all AIS receivers on nearby vessels, allowing one of them to respond much faster than the rescue team.
