At the end of the session, you wedge the lines in its jaws and roll up the rest. At the next session, the reeled lines will be perfectly clear and ready for take-off. This gives a particularly interesting advantage when you want to take off from the stern of a sailboat: Connect your lines, let your kite drift away by unrolling the lines, and hop, immediate takeoff! The line cutter allows you to free the lines in case of problem, in complete safety.
