ERPIB 1 is the cheaper and the smaller on the market ! In accordance with the Division 240, this beacon is an EPIRB. This type of beacon is now mandatory for navigations at more than 60 miles from the coast. It will allow you to communicate your position by three methods: link with rescue services via satellites, radio-localization signal for rescue vessels, and a visual indication with its flashing light. Its battery has a life span of 10 years, at the end of these 10 years you will just have to replace the battery in an Ocean Signal authorized center.
